Shards of metarhyodacite (rhyolite) on the summit of Morrow Mountain in Morrow Mountain State Park, North Carolina. Native Americans quarried this rock for arrowheads and tools beginning some 11,000 years ago. The mountain is part of the Uwharrie Mountains. The park is located along the Pee Dee Valley Drive Scenic Byway.
